Open postion: post-doctoral fellowship at the Institute of Biophysics (IBF) of the National Research Council (CNR), to join Mauro Manno’s research group at the CellTech-IBF Laboratory in Palermo (Italy).

 

Duration: 18 months

Salary: about 1830€/month

Project: Nanofunctional Biomaterials Laboratory (NABLA), a joint lab between CNR and ETH Zurich.

Scientific task: Extracellular vesicles and functional biomaterials for drug transport and delivery.

Job description: The successful applicant will be involved in the group research activities related to exogenous loading of bioactive molecules into EVs, mainly from microalgaeThe fellow is expected to carry on experimental activities on all the stages of the work, from the EV isolation to the functional characterisation of loaded EVs. A special focus is expected on the characterisation of the physicochemical properties to control the whole bioprocess.

 The project is part of a collaboration with Prof. P. Arosio, ETH Zurich, with possible secondments in his lab depending on the project progression.

Qualifications: (a) Ph.D; (b) experience in the project topic; (c) experience in experimental techniques for purification and characterisation of biomolecules and biogenic nanoparticles, such as (but not limited to) super-resolution microscopy, liquid chromatography, scattering techniques, microfluidic devices for biological systems.
