A 12-month researcher fellowship position (“Assegno di ricerca”, junior post-doc level) is available in the Laboratory of Translational Research in Paediatric Nephro-Urology directed by Dr. Federica Collino at the University of Milano/ Department of Clinical Sciences and Community Health in Milano.
Starting date October 1st 2024.
The project covered by Progetti di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale (PRIN) will investigate the role of the urinary extracellular vesicles as tools to predict the risk of progressive kidney disease in children suffering from unilateral ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO).
Compared with the available diagnostic techniques, this will allow for more precise diagnosis and risk stratification of unilateral UPJO. Currently, we are actively investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms leading to glomerular/tubular damage in different pediatric kidney pathologies searching for new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
The Laboratory is located at the Istituto Nazionale di Genetica Molecolare (INGM) a leading research institute in Italy, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities (Next Generation Sequencing, Cell Sorting and Imaging, and Organoids facility).
